Leading research fellow at the HSE University, VB is mainly responsible for service innovation research by supervising the project on monitoring knowledge-intensive business services in Russia, which covers such areas as company’s innovation activities, HR and CRM practices, digital technology penetration. She has published papers in such peer-reviewed journals and has participated in international projects with OECD on the assessment of higher education learning outcomes, with World Bank on financial literacy and deployment of blockchain and distributed ledger technologies in financial sector, and with CFA Institute on fintech.

Research fields

1.    Innovation patterns in knowledge-intensive business services (KIBS):

KIBS companies, as well as belonging to sectors that have displayed remarkable growth in the last few decades, play multifaceted roles in national innovation systems.  KIBS themselves tend to be highly innovative, and can also contribute to innovation in their clients.

2.   Performance of organisational units

Top managers should be aware of cost structure and revenue streams for being viable in VUCU (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity) environment and designing sustainable business models.

3 Human capital and digital technology adoption

Digital skills – both technical and managerial – and new information technologies have become core assets for companies aiming at improving their performance through digital transformations that can augment their customer relations, increase labour productivity, and automate business processes.
