Innovation studies are deeply rooted in the business and ecosystems literature (Chesbrough, 2003; Adner, 2017). The research interest is on the increasing understanding of the nature of complex social and material interactions taking place in ecosystems, and the benefits and challenges that these entail in favouring conditions for innovation to emergence.
